Cargo Human Care e.V.

Cargo Human Care e.V. (CHC) is a humanitarian and medical aid project which was founded by employees of Lufthansa Cargo in cooperation with doctors from all over Germany. The core commitment is to:

  • provide vulnerable, sick and needy people with direct medical help.
  • give poor and neglected young orphans a home and a future.

In co-operation with local medical and humanitarian organisations, Cargo Human Care is able to help directly where it is needed.

Cargo Human Care (CHC) also operates an orphanage (Mothers‘ Mercy Home) for about 125 children in the outskirts of Nairobi, Kenya.

In addition, CHC has introduced a child sponsorship program and is looking for godparents. At this time there are over 140 sponsored children.  The main initiative is to sponsor schooling and professional apprenticeships for the children of “Mothers‘ Mercy Home” as well as helping children with a physical handicap from the surrounding area. Momentarily 17 young adults are sponsored for an apprenticeship.  An additional 16 children, who have just finished secondary school, are still in need of a sponsorship.  The estimated costs of these sponsorships range from 100 to 170 EUR per month depending on the education program.  Besides education in carpentry and commercial trade, two young adults have started a college education.

Only through education, which after finishing school also includes proper apprenticeships / studies, we can build on securing a solid basis and future for the people and their societies in Africa.
